Luis José Salazar-Serrano

Luis José Salazar-Serrano is an accomplished professional in the field of optics and photonics, currently serving as the Director of Applied Optics at Spire since August 2020. Prior to this role, Luis held positions as Senior Manager of Optical Communications and Team Lead for Free Space Optical Communications at Spire. Luis's expertise was further developed through experience as an Optics Payload & Operation Specialist at Aistech Space and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at ICFO, where a focus on quantum engineering of light was prominent. Additionally, Luis contributed to academia as a PhD student in Physics and Coordinator for Physics Demonstration Experiments at Universidad de los Andes. Education includes dual PhDs in Physics from Universidad de Los Andes and in Photonics from Universidad Politecnica de Cataluña.
