Jonathan Oakes Ceng

Jonathan Oakes CEng (AWeldI and MIET) is a highly experienced engineering professional with a focus on materials and test research and development. Currently serving as Principal R&D Engineer at Spirit AeroSystems, Jonathan oversees a specialist R&D team and manages the Materials Test lab facility. Earlier roles include Lead Project Engineer at ScottishPower and Principal Research and Development Engineer at Spirit AeroSystems. Jonathan's engineering career began at Assystem UK, progressing from Materials and Processes Engineer to Senior Materials and Processes Engineer, where responsibilities included technical approvals for aerospace materials. Jonathan also has a strong educational background, including a BEng(Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Glasgow and certifications in cyber security from SANS Technology Institute, complemented by memberships in professional institutions.
