Carly Cortright, PhD has an extensive work experience in various roles and positions. Carly is currently serving as the Chief Communications and Customer Service Officer at Spokane Transit Authority, a position they assumed in August 2022.

Before joining Spokane Transit Authority, Carly worked as an Adjunct Instructor at Colorado Technical University starting from March 2020.

Prior to their time at Colorado Technical University, Carly held multiple positions within the City of Spokane. Carly started their career in 2003 as a Crime Analyst and then progressed to roles such as Police Planner, Police Business Services Director, and 311 Project Director. In these roles, they were responsible for data analysis, grant writing, budget management, and overseeing various departments related to law enforcement, finance, and customer service.

Carly also served as the Director of Community Programs and later as the Director of Neighborhood Services, where they were responsible for the development and implementation of community engagement and outreach programs, serving as a liaison to neighborhood councils, and supporting community centers.

Throughout their career, Carly has demonstrated expertise in customer service management, community engagement, project management, budgeting, and data analysis. Carly holds a PhD degree and has a strong background in leadership and organizational management.

Carly Cortright, PhD, has a diverse education history spanning multiple institutions and fields of study. Carly obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology from Gonzaga University in 1999. Carly continued their academic pursuits and earned a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree with a concentration in Public Administration from Eastern Washington University, where they studied from 2007 to 2009.

After completing their MPA, Carly went on to pursue a doctoral degree in Criminal Justice at Washington State University. Carly enrolled in the program in 2014 and successfully completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Criminal Justice in 2020. Carly's educational journey demonstrates their commitment to advancing their knowledge and expertise in the fields of psychology, public administration, and criminal justice.
