Clarissa Varela

Clarissa Varela is a seasoned HR professional with extensive experience in human resources management and consulting. Currently serving as a Human Resources Business Partner at Sportech since December 2021, Clarissa aligns HR strategies with business objectives and oversees all HR functions, including payroll and compliance. As the Chief HR Coach and Founder of People’s Coach HR, Clarissa provides strategic assistance to leaders facing employee and team challenges. Previous roles include Human Resource Manager at Church Hill Classics, HR Manager at New Haven Job Corps Center, and Talent Acquisition Manager at Greater Hartford YMCA. Clarissa's career began at NHCA as an Office/HR Manager, followed by a position as an HR Administrator at CIGNA. Academically, Clarissa holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a marketing focus from the University of Phoenix, along with an Associate of Science degree in General Studies from Manchester Community College.
