Kevin Hauss

Kevin Hauss joined the organization in November 2015. He brings over 25 years of Human Resource experience to the organization. He comes to New York Edge from the City University of New York system where he was the Executive Director of Human Resources for John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Prior to that he was the Assistant Vice President of Human Resources for New York Law School. Kevin’s early H.R. background is in Training and Organizational Development and this was the area in which he began his H.R. career. Trained and educated in the field from The American Management Association and N.Y.U. to name a couple of institutions as well as Villanova University’s on-line H.R. program. He was Training Officer for Ridgewood Savings Bank and later head of Training and Organizational Development for Stony Brook University which included their 5 schools of medicine. He conducted organizational development initiatives for many different areas such as the Department of Neurology, Campus Residences, Enrollment Management, Finance and Administration, the School of Medicine, the Department of Family Medicine, Parking and Transportation Services. He was a member of the committee that developed and ran the Stony Brook Diversity Fellows Program which received national recognition. He was a master trainer for the Center for Cultural Competency. He has presented at CUPA. He has conducted executive coaching and he introduced e-learning to the multiple organizations. He created the performance evaluation system for a library system in Suffolk County. He was a lead member of the SUNY HR Professional Development Committee. He was a member of the New York State Labor and Management Training Committee. He also served on the CUNY Steering Committee for “CUNY Conserves.”

Kevin earned his Bachelor’s Degree from CUNY his Master’s Degree from the SUNY where he also received an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management. Kevin was a part-time instructor at Stony Brook University teaching in their Master’s Program courses such as Human Resource Management and Employee Training and Career Development. He was also Vice President of the Board of Directors for Literacy Suffolk where he was also head of the Fund Development Committee. He was honored by the Suffolk County Legislature receiving the Light of Literacy Award and he received “A Champion of Justice Award” from the Black Faculty and Staff Association of Stony Brook University. He has also received the President’s Award for Diversity at Stony Brook University.
