Miguel Luengo-Oroz has a diverse and extensive work experience. In 2010, they worked as a Research Scientist at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Miguel then joined the United Nations in 2011 as a Data Scientist and later worked as a Research Coordinator from 2013 to 2016. During their time at the United Nations, they also served as the Chief Data Scientist for UN Global Pulse. In 2017, Miguel became an Expert Advisor on Artificial Intelligence and Big Data for the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Government of Spain. Miguel founded Spotlab in 2018 and currently serves as its Founder and CEO. Additionally, Miguel has been involved in various organizations such as Obama Foundation, Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence - GPAI, Ashoka España, and MalariaSpot & Spotwarriors, where they worked on projects related to artificial intelligence, healthcare, and innovation.

Miguel Luengo-Oroz has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Miguel also has a GSP10 degree in Exponential technologies, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship from Singularity University, NASA Ames research center in California, US. Additionally, they hold a Master of Science (MSC) degree in Cognitive Sciences from EHESS - Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales. Miguel also has a degree in Ingénieur des Mines (field of study not specified) from Mines Paris. Miguel obtained a MSC & BSC (Ingeniero Superior) degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

Miguel Luengo-Oroz also obtained a certification called "Becarios Fundación 'la Caixa'" from Fundación 'la Caixa' in January 2004.
