Derek Reynolds

Derek Reynolds is currently the EVP of Business & Legal Affairs at Spotter. Derek has previously held positions at YouTube, Miramax, and Doyle & McKean.

Derek Reynolds has over a decade of experience in the entertainment industry. Derek began their career as an attorney at Doyle & McKean, where they represented studios, networks, production companies, writers, and directors in the motion picture, scripted and nonscripted television and digital media industries. Derek also did substantial work in the areas of domestic and international motion picture distribution and entertainment finance.

In 2011, Derek joined Miramax as Senior Counsel, responsible for day-to-day management of Business & Legal Affairs. Derek negotiated and documented all long form agreements relating to theatrical development, production, distribution and acquisition. Derek also negotiated, documented and managed new media-related transactions, and software and technology services agreements. In addition, Derek provided expert advice and guidance to senior management regarding copyright, intellectual property and Business & Legal Affairs matters.

In 2017, Derek joined YouTube as Director, Global Head of Business Affairs, YouTube Originals. Derek was responsible for negotiating and drafting all business affairs agreements for YouTube Originals content in the US market. Derek also managed a team of business affairs executives who negotiated and drafted agreements for YouTube Originals content in international markets.

Derek Reynolds is a highly experienced entertainment lawyer with a strong track record in negotiating and drafting agreements for content creators in the US and international markets.

Derek Reynolds has a JD from DePaul University College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from the University of Iowa.

They are on a team with Beth Bradmon - CFO, Marcio Costa - VP, Content Partnerships, and Nisheeth Singh - Chief Analytics Officer. Derek Reynolds reports to Aaron DeBevoise, CEO & Founder.
