Justin Su has a diverse work experience in the software engineering field. Justin started their career at Anchor-Cross Publishing as an IT Professional, where they produced technical deliverables and converted books into electronic versions. Justin then worked as a Research Assistant at Brandeis University, processing and annotating data for a discourse relation project.
Following this, Justin joined QPID Health as an NLP Engineer, where they implemented NLP modeling tools and improved NLP pipelines for processing electronic health records. Justin also trained and implemented NLP models for clinical purposes.
Justin then took on the role of a Data Analytics Intern at UnitedHealth Group, where they rationalized and extended the company's annotated data in the clinical domain and trained CRF models for named entity recognition tasks.
After that, Justin returned to Brandeis University as the Head Teaching Assistant, providing support and guidance to students.
Justin then joined QPID Health, now a part of eviCore healthcare, as a Senior ML NLP Engineer. Justin played a key role in planning and grooming research topics and collaborated with the data science team on modeling efforts. Justin later transitioned to the role of NLP/ML Engineer, working closely with the Product Owner on product visions and Sprint planning.
Justin then briefly worked at Stealth as a Machine Learning Engineer, implementing data engineering and machine learning pipelines.
At eviCore healthcare, Justin returned as a Senior Software Engineer, where they worked with the product owner and the team on planning and grooming research topics. Justin developed scalable APIs and CI/CD pipelines for deploying to Azure.
Most recently, Justin joined Nylas as a Senior Software Engineer, where they wrote design documents, participated in architectural reviews, and implemented solutions primarily in Golang and occasionally in Python.
Currently, Justin is working at Spring Health as a Senior Software Engineer, developing frontend features, setting up CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring application performance and usage using Datadog dashboards.
Justin Su earned a Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems with a Minor in Computer Science from Northeastern University, which they attended from 2010 to 2015. Afterward, they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) in Computational Linguistics at Brandeis University from 2015 to 2017. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a Machine Learning Specialization from Coursera in July 2017.
