Karishma Patel Buford has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Karishma Patel is currently working as the Chief People Officer at Spring Health since April 2022. Karishma Patel started their career at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, where they served as a Postdoctoral Fellow from July 2006 to July 2007 and completed a Clinical Psychology Doctoral Internship from June 2005 to June 2006.

Karishma Patel Buford completed their B.A. in Psychology from the University of Virginia from 1996 to 2000. Karishma Patel then pursued a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University's Georgia School of Professional Psychology, completing it from 2001 to 2006. In 2003 and 2004, they were a Doctoral Intern at the Georgia Institute of Technology's Counseling Center. After completing their degrees, their educational pursuits continued, and they obtained a Mini-MBA from the University of St. Thomas - Opus College of Business in 2009. In 2013, they attended IMD's School of Business for the Emerging Leaders Programme.

Karishma Patel Buford has also obtained several additional certifications. In 2013, they became a Hogan Assessments Certified Coach from Hogan Assessment Systems. In 2017, they received the Organizational Design Certification from ODC - Organizational Design Community. In 2018, they completed the Rocket Model - Team Performance certification from Curphy Consulting. In 2019, they obtained the Compensation Studies certification from eCornell and the Design Thinking University certification from LUMA Institute. In 2020, they received the DEI Foundations certification from Jennifer Brown Consulting. Lastly, in 2021, they attended the Fintech Revolution: Transformative Financial Services and Strategies program at Wharton Executive Education. Most recently, in 2022, they completed the Chief Human Resources Academy from the NATIONAL ACADEMY OF HUMAN RESOURCES.
