Adebowale Popoola M.D.

Adebowale Popoola, MD has had a diverse and extensive work experience. In 1993, they began their career as a Physician House Officer at Lagos University Teaching Hospital in Nigeria. Adebowale then served as a Medical Officer at Centre Medical St. Matthieu in Ivory Coast from 1995 to 1998. In 2006, they became the Medical Director at Kennedy Krieger Institute Family Center, specializing in pediatric neuro-developmental disorders. Adebowale concurrently held a position as a Clinical Instructor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. From 2009 to 2013, they assumed the role of Physician/Inpatient Unit Medical Director at Adventist HealthCare and was also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Georgetown University School of Medicine. In 2014, they joined Jewish Social Service Agency (JSSA) as a Consultant Psychiatrist, overseeing outpatient psychiatric care and providing supervision to medical students and residents. From 2018 to 2020, they served as a Consultant Psychiatrist at Evergreen Behavioral Health. Most recently, in June 2020, they became the Medical Director at Springboard Community Services, Inc. Additionally, in 2011, they assumed the position of CEO/Medical Director at Healthcare Living for Families.

Adebowale Popoola, MD completed their Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B; Ch.B) degree from Ogun State University in Nigeria from 1986 to 1992. Prior to their university education, they attended Government College in Ibadan from 1979 to 1983. After obtaining their medical degree, they pursued residency programs at Mount Sinai School of Medicine from 2000 to 2003 and Albert Einstein College of Medicine from 2003 to 2005, both located in the United States.
