Barbara Cheifet

Barbara Cheifet has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and organizations. Their most recent role was as Chief Editor at Springer Nature Group, where they were responsible for reviewing and making decisions on published manuscripts for Genome Biology. Barbara also played an active role in outreach, attending conferences, and developing journal standards and policies. Prior to this, they worked at Yale University as a Ph.D. candidate and graduate teaching fellow in the Horsley Lab. Barbara also served as the Book Reviews Editor and Issue Editor for the Yale Journal of Biology and Medicine. Barbara gained research experience as an undergraduate research assistant at Boston College and as a summer research assistant/intern at the Hepatitis B Foundation.

Barbara Cheifet completed their high school education at Upper Dublin High School from 2001 to 2005. Barbara then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Boston College from 2005 to 2009. Following their undergraduate studies, Barbara went on to obtain a Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from Yale University between 2009 and 2014.
