Hiromitsu Urakami

Hiromitsu Urakami is an experienced professional in academic engagement and scientific research. Currently serving as the Academic Engagement Director for Japan at Springer Nature Group since February 2021, Hiromitsu is responsible for academic affairs and has previously held significant roles at the Royal Society of Chemistry from October 2013 to January 2021, including RSC Japan Manager and Editorial Developmental Manager. Hiromitsu's earlier career includes positions as a Research Scientist at Hitachi Chemical Co., Ltd., a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, and Research Assistant roles at UC Irvine and UC Santa Cruz. Hiromitsu holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from UC Irvine and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
