Andrew Woo has extensive work experience in the gaming industry. Andrew is currently the Head of Production at Sprocket Games since 2023. Before that, they worked at Riot Games for many years in various roles. At Riot Games, they served as the Senior Manager, Game Production from April 2022 to May 2023, where they led the Motivations Initiative for League of Legends PC and worked on monetization systems, tournament systems, progression systems, and behavioral systems. Prior to that, they held positions as Manager, Game Production, Senior Development Manager, Development Manager, Associate Development Manager, Senior Game Engineer, Tech Lead, and Game Engineer at Riot Games. In these roles, they worked on various systems, mentored junior engineers, led technology initiatives, and contributed to the development of League of Legends.
Earlier in their career, Andrew worked as a Game Programmer at Obsidian Entertainment from 2006 to 2008. Andrew also gained experience as a Crew member at Global Challenge 2004.
Before transitioning to the gaming industry, Andrew worked in the financial sector. Andrew held the role of Assistant Vice President at Credit Suisse First Boston from 2000 to 2004 and worked as a Programmer Analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin, & Jenrette and Goldman Sachs from 1997 to 2000 and 1999 to 1997 respectively.
Andrew Woo attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1993 to 1997, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Math (Computer Science) and Economics. In 2012, they completed a Certificate program in the Technical Management Program at UCLA. Additionally, Andrew has obtained certifications as a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) through the Scrum Alliance, although the exact dates of obtaining these certifications are not provided.
