Michael Zammit

Michael Zammit, PhD, is a seasoned professional in the field of intellectual property, currently serving as the Chemical/Life Sciences Leader at Spruson & Ferguson since October 2020. Zammit has contributed to the development of a new webpage for the Technology Transfer IP Hub. Previously, from May 2021 to April 2023, Zammit held the role of Councillor for the Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys of Australia, an organization representing Australian Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys. Prior experience includes serving as Principal and Registered Patent Attorney at Shelston IP from June 2004 to October 2020, where responsibilities encompassed patent specification drafting and due diligence. Earlier positions at James Hardie Building Products involved coordinating IP responsibilities and managing technical support. A PhD in Chemical Engineering was achieved at the University of New South Wales, along with multiple degrees in technical analysis, intellectual property law, and surface coatings technology.
