Tech Summer Intern (dc Area)

Who We’re Looking For (Position Overview): Junior or Senior level people with a passion to learn and grow their skills in support of critical mission requirements.  We are looking for positive, vibrant, hard-working interns to join our team where you will learn highly desired skills to augment your academic career.  Our program this year will focus on developing your skills in cloud automation, machine learning, and artificial intelligence in a practical setting.  Interns will be required to demo their summer project to senior leadership and possibly our customers as well.

What Your Day-To-Day Looks Like (Position Responsibilities):

• You will be researching and developing in a cloud setting (particularly in AWS).
• You will be working with at least one other intern with a similar background and skills to develop capabilities in a cloud domain that will be leveraged by our company for future growth opportunities.
• You will be expected to research and build out a cloud environment in an entirely automated way.
• Collaboration is key and you will be working on coding projects with peers.

What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Requirements):

• Scripting language knowledge (Python preferably)
• Former experience with tools such as Jupyter notebook would be awesome!
• Have completed a minimum of 6 semester hours of computer science or related discipline work with coding at a university level (more than just the basics folks!)
• Collaborate with the project team to develop and implement data science and machine learning algorithms
• Assist in the design and development of cloud-based solutions for data analysis and visualization
• Conduct research and analysis to support project objectives
• Participate in team meetings and provide regular updates on project progress
• Document project findings and present results to stakeholders
• Continuously learn and stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in data science and cloud computing

Ideally, You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):

• A positive go-getting attitude, the ability to work independently and collaboratively.  You are not shy to ask questions or try new things to get to a solution.  You love being creative and are a passionate coder/developer/designer/creator.
