Colin Averill is the Founder and CEO of Funga, a company dedicated to utilizing forest fungal biodiversity to create sustainable managed forest landscapes in response to the climate crisis. Serving as an Affiliated Scientist at ETH Zürich, Colin collaborates on forest microbiome restoration experiments initiated during a previous tenure as an Ambizione Scholar, focusing on the complex interactions of microbial diversity with forest ecosystems. As Co-Founder and Scientific Advisor of SPUN, a research organization advocating for the protection of mycorrhizal fungal communities, Colin advises on innovative mapping techniques.
