Jared Smith

Jared Smith, SHRM-SCP, has extensive experience in the field of human resources, spanning over two decades. Currently, they hold the position of Human Resources Director for Cooling Products/Americas at SPX Cooling Tech, LLC. In this role, they oversee HR operations specifically for Cooling Products in the Americas region.

Prior to their current position, Jared served as the Director of Human Resources for various brands under Yellow-YRC Freight/Reddaway/Holland/New Penn/HNRY. Jared played a crucial role in integrating all these brands and transforming them into a National Super Regional Carrier. Additionally, they held the position of Senior Regional Director of Human Resources for Reddaway and Regional Director of Human Resources for Reddaway within the same organization.

Before joining the Yellow Family of Companies, Jared worked as a Human Resources Manager at West Liberty Foods, where they managed HR operations. Jared also served as an Area People (HR) Director at Waffle House, where they were responsible for HR functions across 25 locations. At Waffle House, they developed recruitment programs and selected individuals for management positions.

Jared started their career as an Employee Relations Specialist at CSC, where they provided guidance and support to managers and employees on various employee relations issues. Jared then worked as a Human Resources Generalist at Absolute Staffers, overseeing HR operations for government employees and contractors.

During their time at Clemson University, Jared took on the role of HR Consultant and Project Manager, consulting for various organizations on HR processes, designing surveys, and developing HR policies. Jared also worked as a Teaching Assistant during their time at the university.

Additionally, Jared has experience as an Editor-in-Chief at Intuition, a Research Assistant at Brigham Young University, and a Regional Manager (HR & Operations) at Tinsley Investigative Services. In these roles, they led HR programs, supervised employees, and developed training programs.

Jared Smith, SHRM-SCP, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University, which they completed in 2005. Jared also pursued studies in Psychology at Brigham Young University - Idaho. Jared furthered their education by obtaining a Master of Science degree in Human Resource from Villanova University. In addition, they have obtained certifications in both SHRM-SCP from SHRM and SPHR from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI.
