Ronnie Hoogerwerf

Ronnie Hoogerwerf is a seasoned quantitative researcher with extensive experience in data science and astrophysics. Currently serving as a Quantitative Researcher at Squarepoint Capital since November 2024, Ronnie previously held roles at CargoMetrics Technologies Inc., including Head of Data Science and Principal Lead Scientist, where responsibilities involved leading teams in trading strategy research, portfolio management, and developing a systematic vessel optimization platform. With prior experience at Microsoft as Interim Group Manager and Senior Program Manager Lead, and as an Application Engineer at Interactive Supercomputing, Ronnie has played significant roles in software development and distributed computing. Early career contributions include research at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory and derivatives work at ABN Amro, complemented by a PhD in Astrophysics from Leiden University.
