Software Engineer at Squishy Robotics

Ian Chen's work experience began in 2016 as a Startup Founder, where they designed safety prototypes and successfully sold them on Amazon. Ian also worked as a Biology Scholar during this time. In 2018, they served as a Math Faculty Computing Facility Database Engineer at the University of Waterloo. In 2019, they worked as a Mobile Application Developer at FLIR Systems and a Mobile Developer at Aeryon Labs Inc. In 2020, they worked as a Build & Tools Software Engineer at BlackBerry. In 2019, they also worked as a Software Engineer at GS1. In 2022, they were a Software Development Engineer at Amazon and a Graduate Researcher at UC Berkeley College of Engineering, conducting research on methane and wildfire robotic sensor detections. Currently, they hold the position of Software Engineer at Squishy Robotics starting in 2023.

Ian Chen began their education in 2016 at Washington University in St. Louis, where they earned a diploma in Bioinformatics & Business. Ian then went on to attend the University of Waterloo from 2017 to 2021, obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Co-op, Mathematics and Computer Science. Currently, from 2021 to 2022, Ian is pursuing a Master of Engineering degree in MDevEng at the University of California, Berkeley.
