Mona Elabbady

As the leader of SRF’s Transit Planning and Design practice, Mona spearheads transit projects across the U.S. She is recognized as an inclusive collaborator among up-and-coming transit specialists for her professionalism, commitment to exceptional client service and communication, and dedication to her SRF teammates.

During Mona’s tenure at SRF she has more than tripled the size of the transit group. Her keen business savvy, deep connections within the industry, and her ability to empower staff are highly respected by her peers and leadership at SRF. In addition to growing transit, Mona is also heavily involved in the diversity and inclusion program, women’s forum, and the mentorship initiatives at SRF. She is also an active mentor to aspiring transportation and planning professionals as part of the WTS Transportation You and Urban Land Institute mentor programs.

Mona has been involved in nearly every major transit project in the Twin Cities, and is leading the development of a new BRT in Rochester, Minnesota. She has also worked on BRT projects with transit agencies in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Raleigh and Chapel Hill, North Carolina; and Indianapolis, Indiana.

In her spare time, Mona enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
