Damian Audley

Instrument Scientist In LEA Division at SRON Netherlands Institute for Space Research

Damian Audley is an accomplished Instrument Scientist with extensive experience in the field of astrophysics and detector technology. Currently serving in the LEA Division at SRON since January 2010, Damian has contributed significantly to the development of the SAFARI Detector Optical Test Facility for the SPICA infrared observatory satellite. Prior roles include Visiting Scientist and Research Associate at the University of Cambridge, focusing on the CLOVER project aimed at measuring the B-mode polarization of the Cosmic Microwave Background. Damian has also worked as an Instrument Scientist for SCUBA-2 at the UK Astronomy Technology Centre and as a JSPS Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science. Early career positions include Calibration Scientist for the X-ray Spectrometer at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and Research Assistant at the University of Maryland, where doctoral research was conducted. Damian holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Maryland and multiple degrees in Experimental Physics from University College Cork.
