Simon Pickett

Simon Pickett has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Simon is currently the Head of EV Assets and Technology at SSE Energy Solutions, a role they have held since June 2023. Prior to this, they were the EV Technology, Innovation and CX Lead at SSE Energy Solutions from July 2022 to June 2023. Simon also worked as an EV Project Development Manager at the same company from February 2020 to July 2022.

In addition to their role at SSE Energy Solutions, Simon also served as the Vice Chair of the EV Working Group at Energy UK from August 2020 to August 2022.

Before joining SSE Energy Solutions and Energy UK, Simon worked at EDF Energy. Simon was an Innovator for Electric Vehicles from February 2018 to February 2020. Prior to that, they held roles such as Sales and Planning Executive from January 2017 to February 2018, Sales Quality Executive from May 2015 to December 2016, and Live Chat Sales from May 2013 to May 2015.

Simon also has experience working at Sainsbury's as a Department Manager from June 2011 to October 2012 and as a Team Leader from June 2005 to June 2011.

Before entering the energy and retail industries, Simon had a working holiday in 2012 and previously co-owned JP Gardening from an unknown start date to 2012.

Simon Pickett began their education at St Andrews C of E High School in Worthing from the year 2000 to 2004, where they completed their GCSEs. Simon then attended Worthing Sixth Form College from 2004 to 2006, although the specific degree they pursued during this time is not mentioned. Finally, Simon attended Aberystwyth University from 2006 to 2009, earning a BA (Hons) degree in History.

In addition to their formal education, Simon has also obtained several certifications. In December 2018, they achieved the APM Project Management Qualification from the Association for Project Management. Simon also completed a Low Emission Vehicle Masterclass in October 2018 and studied Vehicle to Grid Technology through the Continued Professional Development Institute, earning certification in January 2019.
