Finlay McCutcheon

Finlay McCutcheon is an accomplished leader in the renewable energy sector, currently serving as Managing Director of SSE Thermal at SSE plc since May 2024. Prior experience includes leadership roles within SSE Renewables, such as Director of Onshore Renewables in Europe and Director of Commercial & Investment Management, overseeing substantial renewable energy projects and asset management across various sectors including Hydro and Onshore Wind. McCutcheon has also directed the Seagreen offshore wind project, resulting in the construction of a 1.1GW wind farm, and played pivotal roles in multiple other offshore projects, including Beatrice and Galloper. An MBA graduate from the University of Edinburgh Business School, alongside a solid legal background with degrees from the University of Edinburgh Law School, McCutcheon has significantly contributed to the net zero transition and the strategic development of renewable energy initiatives.
