Steve Mars, PMP, CSM

Steve Mars has over 20 years of experience in project management and leadership roles. Steve is currently working as a Manager / Principal Consultant at RESPEC since 2017. Prior to this, Steve worked at SSG, Ltd. from 2012, where they held the position of Delivery Manager / Senior Program Manager / Scrum Master. At SSG, Ltd., they were responsible for leading and coaching Agile teams in the development of various products and services, including Mobile Applications Development, Master Data Management, Cloud Computing, and Configure Price Quote (CPQ) systems.

Before joining SSG, Ltd., Steve worked at T-Mobile for several years in different roles. From 2010 to 2012, they served as the Senior Governance Leader, Governance, Customer Systems Development, where they established governance processes and metrics, standardized operational processes, and mentored technical managers. From 2006 to 2010, they held the position of Senior Manager, Web & eCommerce / Wi-Fi Development, and was responsible for directing a team in delivering system enhancements for T-Mobile's Web, Billing, and Customer Care systems. Prior to this, they worked as the Senior Project Manager, Wi-Fi Systems, HotSpot Division from 2004 to 2006, leading various projects and managing critical phases of the Data Center and Network Operations Center (NOC) construction project.

Earlier in their career, Steve worked at Venturi Technology Partners as a Project Manager contracted to T-Mobile HotSpot, managing multiple teams during a major Wi-Fi operations upgrade. Steve also worked as an Independent Senior Billing Consultant at Vitria Technology and as the Senior Technical Project Manager, MIS - Portal Development at WorldCom.

Furthermore, Steve has experience working at Portal Software, where they led Portal Infranet implementations for key clients including Sirius Satellite Radio, XM Satellite Radio, and AOL Time Warner. Steve also worked at America Online, Inc. as the Senior Technical Manager, leading system enhancements and upgrades to the Arbor/BP billing system.

Steve began their career at Bell Atlantic Internet Solutions as a Technical Leader, fully deploying the InterMail system and leading all aspects of the project. Steve later worked at Bell Atlantic NSI as the Senior Manager, Strategic Billing Systems, managing a team for the development and maintenance of strategic data architecture and contributing to the design of the expressTRAK system.

Steve Mars, PMP, CSM graduated from Texas A&M University in 1985 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, specializing in Business Analysis/MIS. In September 2005, they obtained the Masters Certificate in IS/IT Project Management from Villanova University and also achieved the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. In May 2013, they attained the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification from the Scrum Alliance.

Throughout their career, Steve Mars has continued to expand their knowledge and skills by obtaining various certifications. This includes certifications such as ITIL V3 Foundation for IT Service Management from Certification Subject Matter Experts (CSME) in March 2008 and numerous certifications from LinkedIn, such as Microsoft Project 2016 Essential Training, Advanced Microsoft Project, Learning the OWASP Top 10, Master the OWASP Top 10, and the OWASP Top 10 series focusing on specific vulnerabilities. Most recently, in March 2023, Steve Mars obtained certifications such as "Consulting Professional Weekly Tips," "How to Manage Your Attention and Your Priorities," "Managing Your Time," "Project Management Foundations: Lessons Learned," "Project Management Simplified," and "Project Management: Preventing Scope Creep" from LinkedIn. Additionally, they completed certifications related to Microsoft Teams from LinkedIn in March 2019.
