Gabriel Pedersen

Head Of Section, Adjuvant Research at Statens Serum Institut

Gabriel Pedersen has a diverse range of work experience spanning over 15 years. Gabriel started their career as a Masters student at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen, where they focused on the importance of the complement system for immune cells. Gabriel then worked as a production pharmacist at Haukeland sykehusapotek in Bergen, ensuring the safe production of drugs for parenteral use. After completing their PhD, Gabriel joined the University of Bergen/Haukeland University Hospital as a research scientist, before moving to Karolinska Institutet as a postdoc. Here, they explored mechanisms behind defective antibody responses. In 2012, Gabriel joined Statens Serum Institut, where they initially worked as a postdoc before becoming the Head of Section for Adjuvant Research. Their work involved project leading and people management within research of novel adjuvants tailored for specific disease settings. Lastly, Gabriel will be joining the University of Copenhagen as an Associate Professor in 2023.

Gabriel Pedersen obtained their Master's degree in Pharmacy from the University of Copenhagen from 2002 to 2008. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Influenza Vaccines at the University of Bergen (UiB) from 2008 to 2012.
