I was appointed Associate Provost for Student Affairs and Senior Student Affairs Officer at St. Catherine University in February, 2021. I also serve as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator at St. Kate’s. In this role, I am responsible for oversight of the Student Affairs Division and promoting an educational experience that emphasizes the development of the whole student – intellectual, spiritual, cultural, physical, and emotional.
My career in higher education spans 21 years, including nearly 11 years as a senior student affairs officer. In my previous role, I served as Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Title IX Coordinator at Saint Joseph’s College, a Catholic liberal arts college founded by the Sisters of Mercy outside of Portland, Maine. Prior to that I served as Dean of Students at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, an urban University founded by the Sisters of St. Francis.
I am proud to be a national leader in the student affairs field, and have been an active leader in the national organizations of NASPA, ASACCU, AFA (Sorority & Fraternity Advisors), and the ACCU, who sponsored my doctoral research through their mini-grant program.
I was also fortunate to have been recognized in 2020 by the Illinois State University College of Education as a Hall of Fame inductee, and have twice been voted by students on two different campuses as staff member of the year.
Additionally, I was named by the President of Cardinal Stritch University as a Franciscan Pilgrim in 2012, traveling to Assisi and Rome to learn the charism of Franciscan founders Sts. Francis and Clare.
My professional presentations and publications have engaged a range of student affairs topics including leadership; diversity, equity and inclusion; student affairs practice at Catholic colleges and universities; student learning; and retention and student success.
Throughout my career, I have overseen many areas of student life, including disability services, campus ministry, campus recreation, student unions, parenting resource centers, retention and persistence initiatives, career services, dean of students offices, health and counseling services, housing and residence life, international services, multicultural affairs, service and community engagement, student union/center, student conduct, student involvement, and parent and family programs.
