Claudia Tomany

Claudia Tomany is currently the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Associate Provost for Research and Sponsored Programs at St. Cloud State University. Claudia has previous experience as a Dean, Vice Provost, and Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs. Claudia has also served as the Assistant Vice President for Undergraduate Studies and International Education at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Tomany has over fifteen years of experience working in higher education administration. Claudia has a proven track record of providing strong leadership and direction for academic programs. Claudia is an advocate for student success and is committed to providing a high-quality educational experience for all students.

Claudia Tomany first earned their Bachelor's Degree in Norwegian, German, and Icelandic from the University of Bergen (UiB). Claudia then went on to earn their Master's Degree in Scandinavian Studies and English from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Finally, they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Medieval English and Norse Studies from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.

Their manager is Dan Gregory, Provost & VP, Academic Affairs. Claudia Tomany works with King Banaian - Dean of School of Public Affairs, Adel Ali - Dean of College of Science & Engineering; School of Computing, Engineering & Environment, and Katherina Pattit - Dean of Herberger Business School.
