Philipp Rütsche has extensive work experience in the field of information security and IT management. Philipp is currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer at St. Galler Kantonalbank AG. Prior to this, they owned and operated Rütsche IT-Consulting. From 2015 to 2020, they worked in the field of information security at Raiffeisen Schweiz. In 2014, they founded and served as the President of the Swiss Internet Security Alliance. Philipp also worked as a Key Account Manager at cyscon Schweiz GmbH. Before that, they held various roles at Swisscom, including Head of Abuse & Security Operations and Head of Swisscom CSIRT. Prior to joining Swisscom, they held positions at Swisscom Fixnet AG and ETH Zurich, where they served as Head of Internet Abuse Handling and held roles related to web management and IT coordination. Philipp also worked as an IT Project Manager at ETH Alumni.
Philipp Rütsche completed their secondary education at Gymnasium Friedberg, earning a Matura degree in Typ B in the years 1984 to 1991. Following that, they enrolled at ETH Zürich from 1991 to 1997, where they obtained a Dipl. Umwelt-Natw. ETH / MSc ETH in Environmental Sciences. Philipp Rütsche also pursued further education in information security management and obtained a certification as a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA, although the specific years of this program are not provided.
