Chief Nurse at St Gemma's Hospice

Heather McClelland is St Gemma’s Hospice Chief Nurse and her role is to support the ongoing provision of the best possible care and quality of life for local people, both at the Hospice site and in the community.

Heather has strong clinical and professional skills and a proven track record of leading, influencing, and driving quality and improvement. She is a natural collaborator who seeks opportunities to deliver services in new and innovative ways whilst maintaining exceptional clinical care.

Heather is an experienced nurse with a demonstrated history in the hospital and healthcare industry. She has a particular interest in Nursing Education and is skilled in Emergency Medicine, quality improvement, workforce development, and clinical governance. She has an MSc in Health Services Research from the University of Sheffield and has experience as an editor for an international research journal.
