M.sc Brittany Knowles

Brittany Knowles, M.Sc, currently serves as a Regulatory Scientist I at St. Johns River Water Management District since April 2022. Prior experience includes a role as a Visitor Service Assistant at NJ Department of Environmental Protection, where responsibilities involved educating visitors about local wildlife and maintaining park facilities. Brittany's previous work with the USDA Agricultural Research Service as a Lead Biological Science Technician focused on research related to biological control insects for aquatic weed management in the Everglades. Additional volunteer experience includes rescuing marine animals with the Marine Animal Rescue Society and educational outreach at Build-A-Field Trip. An Animal Care Intern at Palm Beach Zoo complemented Brittany's skills in animal husbandry and public engagement. Earlier, as an Ocean Lifeguard, public safety and environmental education were prioritized. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Marine Biology from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor's degree in Marine Science from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania.
