Julia Smythe is an experienced educator with a diverse background in teaching and administration. Currently serving as an English Language Arts Teacher at St. Louis Language Immersion Schools since July 2016 and as Adjunct Faculty at Kaskaskia College since January 2013, Julia has a passion for college-level instruction. Previous roles include Recreation Director at Southern Thirty Adolescent Center, Instructor at Learn It Systems, Inc. and Sylvan Learning Center, and Reading Teacher at Santaluces Community High School, where Julia achieved notable student learning gains. Julia's international teaching experience includes instructing ESL learners at Embassy CES. Julia holds multiple degrees, including a Graduate Certificate in Composition Studies and an Educational Specialist in Educational Administration, reflecting a strong commitment to educational development and effective instruction.

The St. Louis Language Immersion School (SLLIS) is a K-8th grade charter school located in the City of St. Louis, Missouri. Instructionally, SLLIS implements the Gomez and Gomez Dual Language Enrichment Model, which is a structured way to provide rigorous dual language instruction at the elementary level. Our students have the opportunity to learn in Chinese, French and Spanish as a regular part of their school day. Diverse. Committed. Expert.
