Ian Kivler

Ian Kivler is an accomplished music professional with extensive experience in orchestral and artistic planning roles. Currently serving as the Director of Artistic Planning at the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra since October 2016, Ian Kivler has also held positions as Artistic Administrator and Assistant Orchestra Personnel Manager within the organization. Prior to this, Ian Kivler worked as a freelance musician from August 2007 to January 2019, specializing as a trumpet player, and served as a substitute musician with the Houston Symphony from January 2014 to August 2016. Ian Kivler holds a Master of Music degree in Trumpet Performance from Rice University, earned between 2011 and 2013, and a Bachelor of Music degree in Trumpet Performance from The University of Texas at Austin, completed from 2007 to 2011.
