Sydney Held

Resident Instructional Coach at St. Louis Teacher Residency

Sydney Held has a diverse range of work experience in the education field. In 2011, they interned as a Child Care intern at the United States Department of Defense. From 2013 to 2014, they served as a Literacy Development Intern at Mission: St. Louis, where they led daily literacy activities and assisted with various tasks. Following that, from 2013 to 2014, Sydney worked as a Lead Teacher at Sheffield Place, leading a team of teachers and providing learning opportunities and therapy sessions for students with a variety of needs. From 2014 to 2020, they worked at Brookside Charter School, first as a Teacher Candidate and then as a 4th Grade Teacher. In this role, they managed a classroom, taught all subjects, and co-founded the school's Innovation Team. Currently, since 2020, Sydney is working as a Resident Instructional Coach at St. Louis Teacher Residency.

Sydney Held obtained a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of Kansas, where they studied from 2022 to 2024. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Teaching at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where they attended from 2010 to 2015.
