Val Stangoe

Val Stangoe is an accomplished healthcare executive with extensive experience in hospice and community care. Serving as the Chief Executive Officer at St. Mary's Hospice in Ulverston since January 2013, Val leads initiatives to provide care to communities in the Furness peninsula and South Lakes. Prior to this role, Val held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Harlington Hospice Association Limited from June 2011 to January 2013, focusing on support for residents in the Five Villages. Val's background also includes serving as the End of Life and Urgent Care Commissioner at Oxfordshire PCT from September 2008 to June 2011, where Val designed and improved services for individuals with terminal illnesses. Earlier experience as a Community Psychiatric Nurse at Plymouth Community Mental Health Services in 2007-2008 equipped Val with a deep understanding of mental health care and the positive impact of direct service.
