Irfan Dhalla

Dr. Irfan Dhalla has a dual role at Unity Health: helping drive their network’s quality agenda with a special focus on engaging their physicians; and leading their Care Experience Institute, shaping its future to be a first-in-Canada centre of excellence.

Irfan began his career at St. Michael’s Hospital in the Division of General Internal Medicine, eventually becoming the hospital’s inaugural Medical Director, Quality and Research. From 2013 to 2019, Irfan was a VP at Health Quality Ontario. In 2020, he returned to Unity Health to assume these two newly created positions.

Irfan continues to practice general internal medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital, where he is an award-winning teacher. He is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine and the Institute for Health Policy and Management at the University of Toronto. He has been recognized with national awards, from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Canadian Society of Internal Medicine, and the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health.
