James Rudge has a diverse background in compliance and building safety, with extensive experience in various managerial roles. James is currently employed as the Head of Compliance & Building Safety at St Mungo's since January 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Origin Housing as a Specialist Projects Manager from May 2022 to January 2023 and as the Head of Compliance from February 2020 to May 2022. Before joining Origin Housing, James held the position of Head of Compliance / Contracts at the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea from June 2017 to February 2020. James also served as the Property Services Manager at Wandle Housing Association from February 2015 to June 2017 and as the Maintenance Manager at Howard Cottage Housing Association from October 2012 to February 2015. Earlier in their career, they were the Senior Technical Services Manager at Family Mosaic from August 2006 to August 2012.
James Rudge earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Geology from Plymouth University, where they studied from 1992 to 1994. James further pursued their education at Imperial College London, obtaining a Master of Science degree in Mineral Deposit & Appraisals from 1996 to 1998.

At St Mungo’s we provide a bed and support to more than 3,150 people a night who are either homeless or at risk, and work to prevent homelessness, helping about 32,800 people a year. We believe no one should be homeless and that people can – and do – recover from the issues that create homelessness. We support men and women through more than 300 projects including emergency, hostel and supportive housing projects, advice services and specialist physical health, mental health, skills and work services.
