St Olaf College
Brian Rivera is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor at St. Olaf College, beginning in August 2025. Prior to this role, Brian served as a Research Assistant Professor and Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from September 2021 to September 2025. Brian completed a Doctoral degree in Educational Psychology at The University of Alabama, where studies extended from 2016 to 2021. Additional academic experience includes positions as a Postbac Research Assistant in the Cognition and Action Lab at the University of Massachusetts Amherst (June 2015 - August 2016) and as Assistant Dean of Admission & Coordinator of IT Operations at Franklin & Marshall College (July 2013 - May 2015). Notable participation in the 2017 AERA Annual Meeting and the Summer Program in Neuroscience at the Marine Biological Laboratory further highlights Brian's commitment to advancing diversity in the scientific workforce. Brian's educational background features a Bachelor's degree in Scientific and Philosophical Studies of the Mind from Franklin & Marshall College and participation in the Budapest Semester in Cognitive Science program.
