Daniela Herkul

Daniela Herkul is a legal professional with extensive experience in the oil and gas sector, currently serving as Counsel Upstream and Corporate Secretary at Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname N.V. since May 2018. In this role, Daniela is responsible for drafting and negotiating Production Sharing Contracts and other agreements, ensuring compliance with extractive industry regulations, and overseeing corporate governance. Additionally, Daniela contributes as a part-time lecturer in Minerals Law & Regulation at Anton de Kom University and has held various legal positions, including Legal Counsel at IAMGOLD Corporation, where responsibilities included contract negotiation and stakeholder relations. With a Master of Public Administration from the International Institute of Social Studies and a Bachelor of Laws from Anton de Kom University, Daniela has a strong foundation in law and governance, complemented by experience in human rights research and community relations.
