Herman Alendy

Mr. Herman Alendy is the chairman of the Supervisory Board since October 2020. Mr. Alendy obtained his Licentiate Degree from the University of Suriname in 1981 and accepted a job offer from Suralco L.L.C. shortly after obtaining his Licentiate Degree. Following 8 years of working in the Bauxite Mines, Mr. Alendy went for study in the USA and double majored at the Colorado School of Mines, Colorado, earning the degrees Master of Science in Mineral Economics and Master of Engineering, E.M. (Engineer of Mines). Returning to Suriname in 1991 and re-employed by Suralco, Mr. Alendy has held several positions and international assignments with Suralco, including Manager Suralco Bauxite Mine Operations, Manager Special Projects, Mine Manager Suralco L.L.C. and in 2007 Mr. Alendy had an ex-patriate assignment in Jamaica as Mine Operations Manager JAMALCO, up to July 2009. From November 1991 up to October 1995, Mr. Alendy was a part-time lecturer at the University of Suriname, lecturing on Geostatistics and Project Economy. Following retirement from Suralco, Mr. Alendy provided consultancy services for several companies, including N.V. Grasshopper Aluminum Company (N.V. Grassalco), Chisu Mining Services N.V. and the French International Construction Co. Eiffage International.
