Karen Kersting

Karen Kersting has over 17 years of experience in the design and marketing industry. In 2021, they began working as the Product Strategy and Design Director at Stable Kernel, where they oversee the implementation of product design using Design Thinking and Agile frameworks. Karen also creates functional strategies for user experience design and establishes digital design brand standards. Prior to this, they were a Freelance Creative Director at Kersting Design from 2020-2021, where they provided end-to-end creative and production services specializing in user experience design, digital design, branding, marketing and content creation. From 2017-2010, they worked as the Creative Director Marketing Services at IBM, where they developed strategy and creative for marketing campaigns. From 2010-2004, they worked as the Lead Creative Director at IBM Interactive Experience, where they directed and implemented a broad range of multi-phase UX initiatives. Lastly, from 2004-2010, they worked as the Creative Director at IBM, where they led multi-disciplinary UX teams to create innovative enterprise level interactive solutions.

Karen Kersting obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Georgia State University in 1993 with a concentration in Graphic Design. In 2001, they earned an IBM IT Specialist certification from IBM. Karen also holds an IBM Design Thinking Trainer certification from IBM Interactive Experience.
