Founding Team

About

Blockstack was founded in 2013 by Muneeb Ali and Ryan Shea. Both co-founders came from entrepreneurial and technical backgrounds. Prior to Blockstack, Ali was the CEO and co-founder of Trust Machines, a software company that built one of the first bitcoin mining rigs. Shea, on the other hand, was the co-founder and executive chairman of Hiro Systems, a startup that provided enterprise software to companies like Google and Facebook. The team is rounded out by CTO Balaji Srinivasan, who co-founded Onename, a bitcoin wallet startup.
