Karel Kriekemans

Karel Kriekemans serves as the Schepen van Toerisme, Evenementen, Mobiliteit, Jeugd en Bouw&Infra for Stad Genk since July 2021 and has been a Gemeenteraadslid for CD&V since January 2019. Since August 2012, Karel has also held the position of event coordinator at GGJC VZW. Previously, Karel worked at Alken-Maes from 2015 to June 2023, starting as a Sales Account and advancing to Senior Sales Account. Karel's teaching experience includes a role as a leerkracht tuinbouw at KOSH in late 2014 and a leerkracht secundair onderwijs at Tuinbouwschool OLV in early 2014. Karel has also been involved as a freelance medewerker with Golazo sports, media & entertainment in 2013 and contributed to tuinaanleg at Groenbedrijf Van Vlierden n.v. in late 2012. Karel's educational background includes a Professionele Bachelor in Landscape Architecture from Erasmushogeschool Brussel and engagement in studies at various institutions related to landscape architecture and groenmanagement between 2009 and 2015.
