Peter Vervoort is a seasoned researcher with extensive experience in spatial and environmental issues, currently working at Departement Omgeving since November 2012, where responsibilities include coordinating and conducting scientific research that informs policy and practice in Flanders, Belgium. Peter Vervoort is also a PhD researcher at Universiteit Antwerpen focusing on the relationship between green urban space and health within the context of spatial planning. In addition, Peter Vervoort serves as an expert for the Municipal Spatial Planning Commission in Stad Turnhout and previously worked as a spatial planner for Vlaamse Overheid, providing guidance on spatial policies and evaluating significant public projects. Early career experience includes a role as an architectural engineer at Architects in Motion. Peter Vervoort holds a Master of Engineering degree in Architecture from KU Leuven and a Master of Science degree in Urbanism and Spatial Planning from Artesis Hogeschool Antwerpen.
