Stand for Children
Jamayka Y. is a digital storyteller currently at Stand for Children since May 2022. Previously, Jamayka served as a fellow with the Committee on Black Performing Arts at Stanford University, focusing on Black performance and ritual spirituality. Experience includes research on Black women's experiences of sexual violence as a Basser Research Fellow and leadership roles in peer education and artistic initiatives at Stanford University. Additional research and assistant roles have been completed at institutions like the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and various departments at Stanford University. Jamayka holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in African-American/Black Studies from Stanford University, earned in 2021.
