Ibrahim Gathungu

Ibrahim Gathungu is an accomplished cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in information security, risk management, and compliance. Currently serving as the Head of Cyber Security Standards & Methodologies at Standard Chartered Bank, Gathungu is responsible for establishing cybersecurity policies and standards aligned with global best practices and regulatory requirements. Previous roles include Head of ICS Policy Regulation and Senior Manager for Information & Cyber Security Risk at Standard Chartered Bank, and Senior Manager for Cyber Risk at Deloitte, where Gathungu led initiatives in information security across various industries. Gathungu's earlier experiences include management positions at PwC Kenya and Safaricom, as well as work with EY as a Senior Consultant in IT Risk Assurance. Ibrahim Gathungu holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems & Technology from the United States International University - Africa.
