Richard Charnock

Richard is CEO of Aberdeen Standard Capital, which provides discretionary fund management in the UK wealth management sector. He is also Director of Aberdeen Standard Capital International Limited, and a non-executive director of HDFC International Life and Re Company.

Richard joined Standard Life in 2007. He was a member of Standard Life’s UK Executive Board from 2010 to 2014 and subsequently became Managing Director of the Adviser and Investment business of Standard Life in the UK. He had responsibility for all Standard Life retail channel activity in the UK and Ireland and was CEO of Standard Life Savings, with responsibility for the Wrap platform and Fundzone businesses. Richard was also an executive director of Standard Life Investments from 2014 to 2018.

Before joining Standard Life, Richard was CEO of Williams de Broe and prior to that he was CEO of Lloyds TSB Private Banking, Lloyds TSB IFA and Lloyds TSB Stockbrokers.

Richard is a member of the Worshipful Company of International Bankers and the Cornhill Club. For 12 years up to 2020 he was also a Board Director and Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments.
