Christina Betancourt Johnson has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Christina Betancourt is the Founder and CEO of Standard Wellness, where they led a team through the process of obtaining medicinal cannabis cultivation licensure in Maryland. Christina Betancourt was successful in securing the licensure in April 2022.

Additionally, Christina served as the Vice Chairman of the Board at CANMD, an association focused on promoting patient access and innovation in the medical cannabis industry in Maryland.

Before their involvement in the cannabis industry, Christina founded and led Rooted Therapeutics, a cannabis firm involved in plant-touching businesses and consulting.

Christina also has experience in nonprofit organizations. Christina Betancourt served as the Executive Director of Rebuilding Together Montgomery County, where they implemented a strategic vision and led a financial turnaround for the affordable housing preservation nonprofit.

Furthermore, Christina held marketing and communications roles in organizations such as Global Impact and United Way of the National Capital Area. Christina Betancourt has also worked as the Executive Director of Conscious Capitalism Washington, D.C. and as the Chief Operating Officer of The Warrenton Group LLC, a real estate development enterprise.

Christina Betancourt Johnson began their education in 1994 at Georgetown Visitation, where they completed their high school education. Christina Betancourt then attended Hampton University from 1998 to 2002, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing. After a few years, they pursued further education at The George Washington University from 2003 to 2004, focusing on the School of Leadership and Municipal Management. Following this, they attended The University of Dallas from 2005 to 2007, obtaining a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a specialization in Marketing and Organizational Development.

Additionally, Christina Betancourt Johnson obtained a certification in "The Opioid Crisis in America" from HarvardX - An Online Learning Initiative by Harvard University through edX in March 2020.
