James Martin is the VP & Controller at Stanford Health Care. James has over 10 years of experience in the healthcare industry and has held various positions in finance and accounting.

Martin began their career at NYU Langone Health in 2009 as a controller. James was responsible for leading the financial recording, summarization, and reporting for the health system. James also oversaw the completion of all required annual audits and assisted senior administration and operating units in the effective and efficient management, monitoring, and control of the financial resources of the health system.

In 2013, Martin implemented an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system which led to a 5-day monthly close process and the ability to develop Business Intelligence reports and dashboards for executive leadership. In addition, they standardized the Profit & Loss statements for the institution which created transparency regarding investments in shared goals and missions for all leaders in the medical center.

Martin has been with Stanford Health Care since 2014 and has been instrumental in providing financial oversight and guidance for the organization. James has helped Stanford Health Care navigate through various challenges while maintaining a strong financial position. Under their leadership, Stanford Health Care has continued to grow and thrive.

James Martin has a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Washington and Jefferson College. James is also a Certified Public Accountant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

They work with Jill Buathier - VP & Chief Revenue Cycle Officer, Priya Singh - Chief Strategy Officer, and Ted Ross - VP, Finance. James Martin reports to Linda Hoff, CFO.
