Elsie Phillips

Financial Management Analyst at Stanford University

Elsie is a member of the finance team for the School of Humanities and Sciences and manages the annual graduate aid cycle, with an emphasis on training and supporting system users in constructing annual budgets and multi-year forecasts via the graduate aid financial planning system. She actively contributes to assessing business needs, as well as developing, testing, and implementing new infrastructure to improve financial functions in the Dean's Office and H&S. Elsie also participates in the annual accounting cycle processes.

Before joining H&S in 2015, Elsie worked for the financial management consulting and support group as a financial management consultant. In this role, she presented and facilitated instructor-led training and problem-solving workshops for financial systems. Prior to coming to Stanford, she held positions at Cengage Learning (f.k.a. Thompson Learning), UCSF, and the University of Michigan.

In her free time, Elsie loves playing guitar with friends, hiking, camping, and reading. She also enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering at a local homeless shelter.
