Jiayan Zhao

Manager, Financial Analysis & Venture Funds at Stanford University

Jiayan is the Manager of Financial Analysis and Venture Funds, reporting to the CFO & VP of Business Affairs. She staffs the Board of Trustees Committee on Finance, evaluates investment opportunities for the President's Venture Fund and undertakes special projects for senior leadership across the University.

Jiayan joined Stanford in year 2006 as a Business Analyst in the School of Medicine. Subsequently, she worked in the School of Humanities & Sciences Dean’s Office, progressing from a Senior Financial Analyst to the Associate Director of Finance. Within H&S, Jiayan managed the Finance Liaison team and the Infrastructure & Analysis team. She was the school’s Budget Officer and was a key contributor on many strategic projects.

Jiayan holds a Master degree in Financial Engineering from the University of Michigan, and a Master Degree in Accounting and Economics from the University of Manchester in the UK. Jiayan grew up in China and graduated from East China University of Science and Technology with a BA in Finance.
